I don't know if I can explain this right but here goes. When I am on a website in Mozilla Firefox, and there is a link to send an email, I click on the link and it goes directly to Outlook. How can I change this so I can send the email from my gmail address? Anyone know? Thanks for reading!

I'm running a webpage and I don't want people having to try to figure out outlook or w/e they have set as default. As I recall there was a way to make all mailto: links open a gmail window with just to, subject, and body. Does anyone know the URL to that or the code necessary?

Linking exchange server to gmail?
Hello,
My company uses Microsoft Small Business Server, so Outlook Online is the primary email provider. I believe this uses Exchange Server. I'm trying to link this acct to my gmail one, but I'm unsure how to do so. Is it possible, if so, how? If not, are there any work-arounds other than setting up Outlook to auto-forward a copy to my gmail?

How do I change the default for e-mail links to Gmail?
When I used to click on an e-mail link, Gmail would open up and the e-mail address would be in the To: area. I just installed Office Ultimate and when I clicked on links, it defaulted to Outlook which was really annoying, so I uninstalled Outlook since I don't use it. However, now when I click on an e-mail link, it says I don't have an e-mail program installed and then nothing happens.

I can't read/compose email! Why aren't my gmail page links recognized?
Every so often my gmail account won't allow me to read my emails, or use the majority of the links on the page. I see the pointer, but it doesn't seem to even recognize that it is pointing to links - when I right click, it doesn't give me the normal option to open link, or to open in a new window. The only way I've figured to fix the problem is to switch from "Gmail view: Standard" to "Gmail view: basic HTML". Anybody know why it does this or how to fix it?

Email link? When I click on an email address on a site page, my screen switches to a gmail screen ?
with the new address in the "Send to" box/line. I have gmail, but the screen that shows up is different than my usual gmail screen. I write a message, hit send, it sends, says it's sent. Then when I go to my regular gmail (using Mozilla Thunderbird) , I have received the mail, addressed to me. I've done this 3 times and made sure the address box was filled correctly, NOT to me. I'm quite puzzled. (It was sent to faceless large entities, so I can't call and ask if they've received it.) Also, on the odd gmail page, I've saved the draft, but the drafts don't show on my regular page. Both definitely gmail, not my Yahoo email. Started from a Google homepage. Using Vista 7.0. New to computers and email (6 months). Thanks.

PROBABLY got the Windows Mail set up boloxed up. check your Thunderbird settings. also insure you have G-Mail set up for pop forwarding in settings,forwarding.

You need to use Gmail for awhile and consistently. If your Gmail account remains active, eventually you may see up to 100 invites ready in your account.
Mine started out the same way, only 15 invites. That'll change with time as you use Gmail more.

I have my preferences set so that holding command-click opens a link in a new tab in my current browser window. This works on every website except for Gmail鈥攊t works for links whose default is to open in the current tab or in a new window, and even with java applets. When I command-clink a link in an e-mail or anywhere else in Gmail it opens in a new window. However, it does work when I control-click and select "Open Link in New Tab." I don't understand why command-click isn't the exact equivalent of this action, nor why the only difference seems to be in Gmail. It's one of those minor annoyances that occurs tens if not hundreds of times every day and would like to be able to fix it.
I'm using Safari 3.2.1 on a MacBook running OS 10.5.5 and recall having the same problem on my iBook. I was able to get Gmail to behave the way I wanted to on Firefox, on a PC. I'm reluctant to switch browsers but not totally opposed.

I have Gmail notifier installed and running and I used to be able to click on a mailto: link in Firefox and have Gmail open in a new tab/window. Now, when I click on such a link nothing happens...no error message or anything. I have Notifier set to use Gmail and their appears to be no settings within Firefox for setting a default email client. Any ideas?

Then right click on the image that you desire and copy it..now go to compose mail right click and then paste...

The important thing is, the image you paste has to be one you copied on the Internet. Try a Google Image search for "birthday cake." You'll get a gazillion results to choose from.

If you put it in some photo hosting site and give a link or copy it. The picture is there untill you delete it from there.

you can add images from your computer easily. the setup of the software is not difficult but is different for different mail accounts so check with your provider. I've listed some.
NOTE: to send mails the only thing you need in the mail client is SMTP . but the mail client can do lot more than that so don't get nervous if you feel the settings are too much or complex.

You have to have the image online someplace for the code to "call" the image to appear. here is the code you will need to modify it to the location to where your image is located: %26lt;img src="http://www.yourimagehere.jpg"%26gt;
you can find the location of the image by right clicking on it and clicking properties. this will show you the URL of the image file. that is what you want to put into the code replacing everything in between the quotes. I am assuming your image is on the web somewhere. This method wont work if the image is located on your computer unless you upload it to photobucket.com or some other site like that. However the settings can be found through the help pages of each email provider as to what the pop settings are, then you go to Gmail and into the settings and then to the forwarding/pop access and enter the info there. Another possibility is to turn on forwarding for both the yahoo and gmail accounts to forward all emails to the gmail account....for yahoo just go to the mail settings area and then to the pop/forwarding link and select to forward all messages to your gmail account....in hotmail same thing.

However the settings can be found through the help pages of each email provider as to what the pop settings are, then you go to Gmail and into the settings and then to the forwarding/pop access and enter the info there. Another possibility is to turn on forwarding for both the yahoo and gmail accounts to forward all emails to the gmail account....for yahoo just go to the mail settings area and then to the pop/forwarding link and select to forward all messages to your gmail account....in hotmail same thing.

I signed up for a .net passport account, although I LoVe my Yahoo! e-mail and want that to be my primary e-mail go to -when I want to send an email! Each time I was sent to MSN Hotmail and it had been driving me nuts!!! I had gone to internet tools programs many times before however, yahoo! e-mail was not a choice!! I was getting so ticked off, thinking that I did not have a choice! So I just tried it again since reading your question and now I find that Yahoo! e-mail is all of a sudden there!? I belive that my solution was that I configured it recently in my McAfee Security suite, which I just updated and found it easier to understand how to set up my PRIMARY E-mail. (Which is my fav Yahoo!) Thanks to your question my e-mail is now directed where I want it to go! Finally my headache is gone!! Thanks!! Peace be with you my friend...kmj

I have a domain registered, I've heard that you can link it with gmail and use the web mail as xxx@yourdomain.com. How can I do that. please advice.

I am looking to find out how one can embed a image into a yahoo or gmail email, so that the image opens when the e-mail is opened (as opposed to a attched file). Also the image is hosted on a remote server, and not sent along with the e-mail.

I can tell u the solution that is
1) download Spybot (is spy ware and mare ware software) from
http://www.filehippo.com in Anti virus section after downloading
run it scan and immunize it If after this all the computer does this same thing then recover your window because these type of virus goes into computer and sit into computer registry so we have to recover the window
2) after recovering your window then again install spybot software, Kaspersky anti virus software
3) For good protection when browsing Internet download Google And yahoo tool bar (with Yahoo Anti spy)
4) If then it doesnt work So u have to install new window

Google owns orkut and when it did this to me I was fuming because I did not realize and thought Orkut had used my details ilegally. It was the password bit that really freaked me out.
